DeFaCo has once again achieved PSO Step 3 on the Social Entrepreneurship Performance Ladder (PSO), the highest level of this national certification. The Social Entrepreneurship Performance Ladder measures and recognises how much and how effectively organisations provide employment opportunities for people who face barriers to the labour market.
Achieving Step 3 means that we score well above the national average. This is not a coincidence and not a temporary project. We have organised our company in such a way that social entrepreneurship is embedded in everything we do. From policy and guidance to sustainable employment opportunities.
Not because it looks good on paper. Not because there is a certification attached to it. But because we believe that everyone has the right to participate and to earn an independent living. Full stop.
What Is PSO Step 3?
The Social Entrepreneurship Performance Ladder (PSO) consists of several levels, culminating in Step 3. The higher the step, the greater the social impact.
PSO Step 1 – Starting or growing commitment to social entrepreneurship.
PSO Step 2 – Above the national average.
PSO Step 3 – Well above the national average, with proven structural policies and sustainable employment opportunities.
By achieving PSO Step 3, we are among the leaders in social entrepreneurship in the Netherlands. An inclusive employer that demonstrates that providing work opportunities for people who face barriers to the labour market is not the exception, but the norm.
Social Procurement: Creating Impact Through Your Purchasing Power
The PSO certification makes social procurement easier and more effective. The certification demonstrates that your purchases and procurement processes make a measurable contribution to creating jobs for vulnerable groups. That is procurement with impact.
For procurement professionals and purchasing organisations, working with a supplier that holds PSO Step 3 automatically means:
- a contribution towards your Social Return on Investment (SROI) obligations,
- the possibility of a reduction in, or exemption from, your SROI requirements,
- a strong contribution to socially responsible procurement (SRP).
By partnering with DeFaCo, you not only benefit from our impact, but also make a meaningful contribution to a more inclusive society as a client.
For us, achieving PSO Step 3 once again is not the finish line. There is always room for improvement, and we believe we can and must do even better.
